USCIS Issues a New I-9 (Video)

In this video, learn about the new I-9 form released this year.

Transcript

So, 2017 has arrived and we have a brand new I-9. Did you know that? On November 14th, 2016, the USCIS issued the new version of I-9. The mandatory implementation date for this I-9 is January 22nd, 2017. So if you haven’t yet implemented, get busy.

The new version of the I-9 is a fillable form. It also comes in the type of form you can just print off and do it the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. In addition to the three pages of information, there is also 15 pages of instructions.

So take a look at the new I-9, get it implemented, and you’ll be compliant in the event that USCIS comes knocking at your door.

I’m Lisa Smith, until next time, remember, you can’t be audit proof, but if you do everything that you know to be compliant, you can be audit secure.
