The Stress Reduction Workshop
for Professionals
Why are we producing
this new kind of training experience? Because today's bright, accomplished
professionals need it. Most of us already know what we should do relax,
take time for ourselves, set goals, etc. The problem is actually putting
these ideals into practice.
The fact is, it's
not easy especially by yourself. That's why CareerTrack created this
special workshop. It's for people who are more advanced in self-develoment,
and are committed to living the principles they already know.
This one day will
get your people motivated and equipped to make significant changes in
their lives.
Your people bring
in a problem take home a solution
In fact, that's
the purpose of this program: to systematically work out an issue in
each participant's life.
We ask participants
to think about what that issue might be (the list at right might help)
and give it some thought before the workshop. Then, when they attend
they'll be guided through actual exercises that will help them 1) understand
the stressful issue better, 2) see new ways through it and 3) get motivated
to act and succeed.
They'll roll up
their sleeves and put into action much of what we've all heard about
stress reduction. They'll start by defining the cause of their stress;
they'll identify their options; develop a plan of action; choose their
first steps; and gain the motivation to move beyond programmed, ineffectual
ways of dealing with stress.
Once they've solved
a stressful issue for themselves, they'll be able to use the workshop
skills they learn to face all the stressors life throws them.
Choosing a stressor
to work on
All sources of stress
come from some unresolved problem. That's why participants will want
to select an issue that's stressing them out, and walk into this workshop
ready to change it.
They can start with
a simple stressor. Or bring in "the big one" that constant struggle
that weighs them down or wears them out.
Common stressors:
 |
Balancing
family and work |
 |
Strained
family and personal relationships |
 |
Health worries
|
 |
Money matters |
 |
Demanding
bosses |
 |
Tough customers
and uncooperative co-workers |
 |
Finding "alone
time" |
 |
Exhaustion;
being stretched too thin |
 |
Coping as
a single parent |
 |
Poor diet
and lack of exercise |
Whatever the problem,
we'll help each participant dig deep and work out a solution that makes
sense for them.
The day is divided
into seven specific steps. In each step, participants will get instruction
and insights from the workshop leader. Then they will embark on a journey
of introspection, through specially designed exercises: journaling exercises,
mind-mapping, free-association, sketching, brainstorming and more. They
are all expertly guided by one of the nation's leading trainers.
Isn't it time you
did something like this for your people?
